Pedestrian Severely Injured in Paterson Hit-and-Run; Police Search for Driver

Paterson police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured Wednesday night.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Market Street.

 Emergency responders arrived to find an unidentified individual lying unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle that had fled the scene.

First responders administered CPR before transporting the victim to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The person’s condition has not yet been disclosed.

Detectives were able to obtain a partial license plate and are currently searching for a dark-colored vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.

The intersection was closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene.

The incident remains active, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
