Police in Paterson are on the search for the driver of a car that struck a pedestrian in a section of the city the sped away from the scene overnight.
It happened at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the vicinity of Marion Street and Totowa Avenue.
Police say units were called to the neighborhood to investigate reports of a person shot, but when they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim suffering a massive head injury after a vehicle struck them at that location.
EMS rushed the identified person to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition, according to police.
The suspect and vehicle remain at-large.
