According to a preliminary investigation at the scene, emergency responders rushed to the intersection 43rd Street and Chancellor Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at approximately 3:05 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews immediately began life-saving CPR on a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive person who was found lying in the street at that location.
Officials say the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
