Monmouth County authorities are investigating a pedestrian strike that killed a person on a road in Holmdel Tuesday evening.
Officials say it happened around 7:15 p.m. near 2174 NJ-35.
The initial investigation indicated that the unidentified victim entered the roadway and was struck by a passing vehicle.
EMS arrived and attempted to revive the victim, but they were unsuccessful accord to officials. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the highway for several hours for the investigation.
Authorities reported no other injuries.
