A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Newark this afternoon has police searching for the driver that fled the scene.
Police responded to the area of Springfield Ave. at 19th Street at around 12:30 p.m where they arrived to find a female victim injured after being struck by a vehicle.
The woman was transported to University Hospital where she suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police searched the area for a black or dark colored truck that left the scene immediately after striking the woman.
The vehicle was never located.
