Pedestrian Injured in Newark North Ward Hit-and-Run

Newark Police are investigating a late-night hit-and-run that left a pedestrian severely injured in the city’s North Ward.

According to reports, officers were called to the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Clifton Avenue around midnight after receiving alerts of a person lying in the roadway. 

When units arrived, they found a victim suffering from a serious head injury, believed to have been caused by a vehicle that fled the scene.
 

The injured pedestrian was rushed to University Hospital for treatment. 

While officials have not released an updated condition, the victim is believed to be in critical condition.

 

Police have not provided a description of the suspect vehicle, and the driver remains at large.

 

The incident is under active investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Newark Police.
