Authorities in Totowa are investigating a pedestrian strike that left a man dead on I-80 overnight.
The incident happened in the eastbound lanes of Rt. 80 near mile marker 55.2 where emergency responders received several calls of a person down on the highway suffering serious injuries.
EMS and Police arrived to the scene to find the unconscious and unresponsive male victim at that location.
The man who was reported to be in his late 50's, died at the scene according to reports.
One other person and the driver of the vehicle that struck the man was transported to St. Joseph's Medical center in Paterson for evaluations.
The identity of the man has yet to be released.
