Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Hawthorne

Passaic County officials are reporting that on September 23, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Hawthorne Police responded to a reported crash with a pedestrian struck on Metro Vista Drive in Hawthorne. 

Officers discovered a 2018 BMW operated by a 76-year-old female from Hawthorne.

Officials say she had driven south on Metro Vista Drive when her car left the roadway, struck several stationary items, and struck a pedestrian walking her dog.

The pedestrian, identified as Bonnie Siebert, 67, from Hawthorne, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where she succumbed to her injuries on September 24, 2022.

The driver of the vehicle was also transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.

 The investigation remains active and ongoing.
