Police in Brick are investigating a pedestrian strike that killed a person in the township overnight.
Little details have been officially released regarding the incident, but according to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the 100 block of Lanes Mill Road just before 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an injured person.
Units arriving at the scene found the severely injured person lying on the ground after a vehicle struck them reports said.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police closed the roadway to traffic for the investigation.
