Hudson County authorities are investigating a tragic incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian at Journal Square in Jersey City on Monday morning.
According to initial reports, emergency responders rushed to the busy transit hub around 10:30 a.m. after receiving calls that a person had been struck by a PATH train.
When firefighters and medical crews arrived, they discovered an unidentified individual severely injured and unresponsive on the tracks.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident led to temporary delays in PATH service as investigators worked to secure the area and gather evidence. No other injuries were reported.
Officials confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the fatal strike remain under an active and ongoing investigation.
