Pedestrian Fatally Struck by NJ Transit Train in Edison

NJ Transit officials reported up to 60-minute delays in both directions on the Northeast Corridor Line in Middlesex County due to a fatal pedestrian strike Monday night.

According to NJ transit, it happened at the Parsonage Road crossing in Edison when westbound train #3959 headed for Trenton struck a male pedestrian. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Offcials say none of the 1,100 passengers and crew on board were injured.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes were cross-honored by NJ Transit buses.
