Pedestrian Fatal Struck by Vehicle Inside Berkeley Heights YMCA Parking Lot

Authorities in Union County are investigating the cause of a crash that killed an elderly pedestrian in a parking lot of a YMCA in Berkeley Heights Friday afternoon. 

Police say officers were called to 59 Locust Avenue to investigate reports of a person struck by a car around 12:50

Berkeley Heights officials said Police and EMS arrived and found a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive 73-year-old pedestrian at that location. 

According to police,  the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver remained at the location. 

Berkeley Heights Police are leading the investigation into the circumstances of the motor vehicle crash.
