Rutgers University Police Officers have a crime scene established near the entrance of Univeristy Hospital as detectives investigate the circumstances behind a person who jumped from a window at the medical center this evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, just before 6:45 p.m., an emotionally distressed patient crashed through the window of their hospital room and fell six stories onto the concrete with shattered glass underneath them.
The victim was rushed back into the hospital from treatment of severe injuries.
There has been no confirmation of a fatality at this time.
It appears that the patient was unattended with no hospital staff monitoring.
