Paterson Woman Arrested for Stealing from Elderly Man

Passaic County authorities announced the arrest of Ms. Flor Loveras, 22 years- old, from Paterson.

According to officials, Ms. Loveras was arrested on February 9 after an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit.

Officials say Ms. Loveras is charged with one count of third-degree Theft by Deception and one count of third-degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception.

On October 2, 2019, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office received a report that Mr. Thomas Geithner was contacted by someone claiming to be a bail bondsman requesting money to secure bail for Mr. Geithner’s son-in-law.

According to authorities, the investigation revealed Loveras participated in the deception and that Mr. Geithner wired the funds directly to Ms. Loveras’ bank account.

The sentencing exposure on third-degree Theft by Deception is three to five years in New Jersey State Prison, and on third-degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception is three to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

Ms. Loveras was processed and released and will be appearing in Central Judicial Processing Court within two weeks.
