Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray announced that authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a city teenager late Wednesday night.
Officials said that on August 27, 2025, at approximately 10:34 p.m., Paterson Police responded to reports of gunfire near North 10th Street and Clinton Street.
When officers arrived, they were directed to North 8th Street, where they discovered a 16-year-old Paterson male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
His identity has not yet been released.
Detectives from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
