Authorities in Paterson are investigating a bizarre and alarming carjacking incident that occurred early Sunday morning involving a naked, armed suspect.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 3:20 a.m. to the intersection of East 27th Street and 10th Avenue following reports of a carjacking in progress.
When officers arrived, they met with the victim, who said a naked Black male approached them with a weapon, demanded their vehicle, and then fled the scene in the stolen car.
In the course of their investigation, officers conducted a canvass of the area and reportedly recovered clothing believed to belong to the suspect in the 400 block of 10th Avenue.
Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the incident.
The motive behind the strange and unsettling crime remains under investigation.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Paterson Police as the suspect remains at large.
This case has drawn attention for its unusual nature, and police continue to search for leads as they work to bring the armed suspect into custody.
