Authorities in Paterson are actively searching for a suspect who carried out an armed robbery involving a motorized scooter late Monday night.
According to police, the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Straight Street, where a male suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at a victim who was riding a scooter.
The suspect then forced the individual off the scooter and fled the area with the stolen motorized vehicle.
Responding officers arrived shortly after and interviewed the victim, who was fortunately not physically harmed during the encounter.
As of early Tuesday, no arrests have been reported and the suspect remains at large.
Paterson detectives are continuing their investigation and reviewing nearby surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the individual responsible.
