Paterson police responded to a reported active shooter at the White Castle on Broadway early Monday morning, but officers determined that no shooting had occurred.
According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched to the White Castle at 220 Broadway shortly after 4 a.m. Employees had reportedly locked themselves inside a bathroom after the restaurant’s drive-thru window was shattered.
Police later determined that a rock had allegedly been thrown through the drive-thru window rather than gunfire.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by Paterson Police.
One person was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.. The incident remains under investigation.
