Paterson Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting That Injured Two

Paterson police are investigating a shooting incident that left two people injured early Sunday morning.

 

Authorities have not yet released full details surrounding the violence, but the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is assisting in the investigation of the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street.

 

Officials at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center notified Paterson police after a male victim arrived at the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the hospital and learned the shooting had occurred on North Main Street.

 

As detectives searched the area and established a crime scene, a second victim also arrived at Saint Joseph’s Hospital suffering from gunfire injuries.

 

Police located evidence of a shooting on North Main Street, however, no additional victims were found at the scene.

 

The motive behind the shooting remains under active and ongoing investigation. 

No further information had been released as of 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
