Paterson Police Investigate Report of An Attempted Abduction

Paterson

Police are investigating a report of an attempted child abduction from the area of East 18th Street and Hamilton Avenue earlier today.

According to one of the teen's mom, her 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old niece were walking home sometime around 12:45 a.m., when the man drove up to them in the area of East 18th Street and Hamilton Avenue.

The man allegedly yelled at the girls inviting them to get in the car, claiming he would take them home.

The teens refused, according to reports, so the man got out of the vehicle and grabbed one of the teen's by the arm. The 12-year-old began kicking the man to release the 14-year-old teen.

The man then began to chase both teens with a bat before fleeing I. A red Toyota Camry.

The suspect was described as a man in his late 40s, wearing glasses, a dark blue shirt, with a tattoo on one hand.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Paterson Police Department.
