Paterson Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Route 3 Crash in Clifton

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi announce that at approximately 1:48 p.m. Saturday police responded to the eastbound side of Route 3 near the intersection with Passaic Avenue in Clifton in response to a crash between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle.

According to police, the crash involved a 2017 Honda CBR motorcycle that was being operated by Ahmed Bashir, 35, Paterson and a 2011 Honda CR-V being operated by Marilyn Basile, 59, of Ridgewood Mr. Bashir was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and is being treated for serious bodily injuries sustained in the crash.

Police say Ms. Basile was not injured, and provided a valid driver’s license.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
