Paterson Man Robbed, Shot by Two in Shared Cab

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 11:22, p.m. on July 8th, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of 8th Avenue between East 17th and 18th Street for a report of a person being shot.

Upon arrival, police located a 23-year-old Paterson man who had sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Officials say based on the initial investigation the victim shared a cab with two individuals who later robbed him in the area of 8th Avenue between East 17th and 18th Street. The victim was shot by one of the individuals during the robbery.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
