Paterson Man Arrested for Aggravated Explicit Assault of Minor

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of Jonathan Monet, 34, of Paterson. 

According to Prosecutor Valdes, Mr. Monet was arrested on April 11 after an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Prosecutor Valdes stated that Mr. Monet is charged with Aggravated Explicit Assault, Explicit Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

According to Prosecutor Valdes, on March 29, the Paterson Police Department contacted the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on a report of a minor being explicitly abused. 

Thereafter, Prosecutor’s Office Detectives interviewed the victim and multiple witnesses. 

Prosecutor Valdes said that the victim reported being explicitly abused by Mr. Monet at the child’s home in Clifton between September 2016 and September 2017.

If convicted, Mr. Monet is subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law registration requirements.
