City officials said the initiative will fund the purchase and installation of 125 solar-powered LED stop signs at targeted UEZ business corridors and commercial intersections across the city.

According to officials, the upgraded stop signs are designed to improve visibility for motorists and pedestrians during both daytime and nighttime conditions, helping reduce intersection-related crashes while enhancing roadway safety in heavily traveled commercial areas.

The signs will operate entirely on solar energy and are expected to remain functional during power outages, allowing for continued traffic control and increased public safety reliability.

Project highlights include:

  • Installation of 125 solar-powered LED stop signs
  • Improved visibility at commercial intersections
  • Enhanced pedestrian and driver safety
  • Reliable operation during power outages
  • Continued investment in UEZ corridor revitalization
