Paterson Homicide Has Police Looking for Answers

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora ask that anyone with information on Monday’s homicide, should contact authorities.

According to police, on December 11th at approximately 8:40 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to 327 12th Avenue for reports of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim later identified as 37-year-old Paterson resident, Keyantay Deas, who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said Deas later died from his wounds.

The investigation revealed Deas was walking on 12th Avenue when he was approached by two individuals who were both armed with handguns and fired multiple shots at Deas.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
