Paterson Eastside High School Principal Dies of Coronavirus

Officials in Paterson has confirmed the passing of a high school principal in the city overnight.

According to reports, Dr. Gerald Glisson died from complications of coronavirus at a hospital in the city during the overnight hours.

Officials said Dr. Glisson took the role of Principal of Operations at Eastside High School in October 2019 after being an athletic director of both Paterson high schools. He was Principal of Great Falls Academy in Paterson just before coming to Eastside.

The Neptune High School and Delaware State University Graduate has made Paterson his home. Dr. Glisson was initiated at Psi Epsilon and is currently an active member of Lambda Upsilon Chapter.

Dr. Glisson was married with two children.

The Paterson School district released the following message:

”It is with a heavy heart that I have been notified tonight of the passing of Gerald Glisson, Principal of Operations at Eastside High School.

Dr. Glisson leaves behind his wife, Michelle, who also works for the Paterson Public School District and two daughters.

Words cannot describe the magnitude of this loss.

Dr. Glisson will long be remembered for his strong integrity and steadfast character. Please keep his family in your prayers at this most difficult time”.
