Paterson, Clifton Teens Charged with Robbery, Sexual Assault

Three teens ages 15 and 16 years of age have been accused of rape, robbery, and assault of a woman at a hotel last month,

According to police, on July 1st sometime around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the Howard Johnson Inn on Route 3 on a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers met with a 50-year-old woman, staying at the hotel, who told them that three suspects knocked on her hotel room door then began to attack her after she opened the door.

The suspects reportedly pushed the victim into the hotel room, where they sexually assaulted her reports said. The attackers then took off with cash and valuables before fleeing the scene.

A three-week investigation led by Detective Glen Arthur resulted in the identification and apprehension of the suspects.

Officials have announced that two Paterson juveniles, 15 and 16-years-old, and a 16-year-old Clifton teen were taken into custody and charged with first-degree sexual assault, robbery, burglary, criminal restraint, aggravated assault, and theft.

The alleged attackers were transported to the Passaic County Juvenile Detention Center.
