Paterson authorities are looking into the cause of a crash that killed a person in a section of the city on Sunday night.
According to police, at approximately 9:55 p.m., two cars collided in the vicinity of 9th Avenue and East 26th Street activating emergency responders.
Upon arrival, police, EMS and rescue crews found two severely damaged vehicles with one of the cars losing control and coming to a stop on the sidewalk.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and there was at least one other person who suffered non-life-threatening injuries according to officials.
The official cause of the crash has not been determined.
