Authorities have identified the Passaic woman killed in a single-vehicle crash this morning in Wall Township.
Police responded to the northbound lanes near mile marker 94.4 shortly after 1:30 a.m. for a report of a crash.
Upon arrival, police found the driver - later identified as Mariano Cabrera Rosagel, 46, of Passaic - of the 2000 Jeep Cherokee was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with serious injuries while the passenger - Gudelia Espinosa-Reyes, 45, of Passaic - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on preliminary investigation, the driver Mariano Cabrera Rosagel, 46, of Passaic, lost control of the SUV and ran off the right side of the road, striking a tree in a wooded area.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
