Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes has announced the arrest of Densy Hidalgo, 50, of Passaic for Insurance Fraud. This matter was investigated by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit.
The investigation revealed that a commercial vehicle, specifically a van, registered to Hidalgo’s company D.H. Transportation, was involved in a motor vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike where personal injuries were sustained.
According to police, detectives learned that Hidalgo insured the vehicle with a personal insurance policy instead of a commercial insurance policy. Hidalgo failed to pay Farmers Insurance Company the correct premiums to insure a commercial vehicle and deprived D.H. Transport employees of proper insurance coverage.
Hidalgo was charged on a Complaint/Summons and was released pending a court hearing scheduled for April 19.
