Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported the arrest of 22-year-old Stiven Peralta from Passaic.
Following an investigation by the Passaic Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit, Peralta was charged on September 14.
Mr. Peralta faces several charges, including first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree criminal restraint, fourth-degree resisting arrest, and a disorderly persons offense of false imprisonment.
The allegations against Peralta claim that on September 12, 2023, he sexually and physically assaulted a minor in a Passaic residence.
It's reported that he restrained the minor when she tried to leave.
Peralta was apprehended without any issues around 12:40 a.m. near Washington Place and Columbia Avenue in Passaic.
