Bethlehem, Pa. - PCCC Women’s Basketball were crowned champions of the 2020 NJCAA Region XIX Division III Tournament held on the campus of Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA Sunday afternoon.
Officials say Passaic -as the #1 seed- overcame a 19-point deficit with five minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter to defeat Ocean County College, -the # 2 seed- 79-72.
Officials say PCCC was the defending 2019 Region Champs improved to 23-1 with the victory.
Sabrina DeFreese earned Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors, while Teya Eaton was named Region XIX Coach of the Year according to Passaic County Community College officials.
PCCC advances to the NJCAA National Tournament to be held at Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL from March 12-14, 2020.
