Partial Roof Collapse at Rahway Sports Complex

Rahway

A second partial roof collapse was reported today, this time in Rahway.

Police and emergency crews responded to The Center Circle sports complex - at 1255 Main Street - for reports of a partial roof collapsed today.

Upon arrival, crews found that the roof over the soccer field caved in from the weight of the snow.

No injuries were reported as the facility was closed at the time of the collapse.

The complex page posted the following statement on its webpage:

"The Circle has experienced structural damage to the arena. All games and practices will be postponed until further notice. The Circle is without power at this time and management is trying to reach everyone to inform them of the situation. The good news is that no one was injured, please stay safe during the storm."

However, according to the site the arena was severely damaged and is currently without heat or electricity. As a result, the facility has suspended all games and rentals until further notice and until the center is cleared to resume activity.

The complex is the home of two indoor arenas for soccer, roller hockey, flag football, lacrosse, softball,  field hockey and other sports.
