An overturned tanker truck closed several lanes of Route 1 for several hours, police said.
Police responded to the ramp from I-287 north to Rt. 1 south in Edison, for a report of an overturned tanker truck at approximately 11:25 this morning.
Upon arrival, Edison firefighters extricated the male driver who suffered serious injuries. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
