Overnight Police Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Trenton
Mercer County authorities are looking into a shooting that involved a police officer overnight in Trenton.
Police officials have released little information on the incident but according to preliminary reports, at approximately 1:50 a.m., police were called to assist an officer who reported shots fired in the vicinity of St. Joe's and North Olden avenues.
Units arrived at the scene and immediately located, then secured the officer who was involved in the incident.
A police officer was taken to the hospital for observation, but there were no reports of the officer being shots as of 3:30 a.m.
Authorities have not released the suspect's condition.
The investigation into the shooting is in its early stages being conducted by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
