An overnight fatal shooting is under investigation in Jersey City.
Reports of shots fired sent several police units to the area of Orient Ave. and Martin Luther Kind Drive shortly before 12:30 a.m. where arriving officers located a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
The victim was transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and located several shell casings.
There has been no arrests reported.
The shooting brings the total number of homicides in the city to 19 with the latest being a fatal shooting inside a bodega on Sunday.
