Police in Sayreville conducted a crash investigation that closed a portion of NJ-35 northbound lanes in Sayreville overnight.
According to NJ State Transportation officials, the incident involved a pedestrian strike near the Victory Circle in Sayreville at around 3:35 a.m.
The victim suffered "life-threatening injuries" according to preliminary reports.
An official statement is expected from police Sunday morning.
