Officials are reporting about 12 adults and five children displaced in a raging three-alarm fire that destroyed a building in Irvington Township late Sunday night.

According to reports, firefighters rushed to 122 Myrtle Avenue after receiving reports of a fire that erupted around 11:05 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed thick smoke and heavy fire coming from a mixed-use building with a convenience store on the bottom floor and apartments on the upper level.

Officials say firefighters made entry into the small supermarket where fire engulfed the business causing severe damage.
