Out-of-Control Van Rams into Pedestrians, Cop in Jersey City

Authorities are investigating an incident that has a Jersey City police officer and several pedestrians suffering injuries after van lost control, struck another car and went onto the sidewalk in Jersey City. 

Police and first responders responded the intersection of Ocean and Myrtle Avenues sometime 8 p.m. last night, where a red minivan appears to have lost control and struck numerous pedestrians - including an officer- on the sidewalk.

At least half a dozen people were transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, including a uniformed police officer who was critically injured.

According to officials, six people are either in stable condition or have been discharged.

According to unconfirmed sources, there were at least six others injured. 

However, at this time authorities have not released an exact number of people injured as a result of the incident.

Incident remains under investigation.
