Orange Resident Arrested for Robbing Newark Man While Exiting NJ Transit Bus

Newark authorities reported the arrest of Mr. Khalif A. Williams, 39, of Orange, who was charged with a robbery that occurred on April 12, 2023.  

Police say at approximately 12:25 p.m., the victim was robbed of $280 after he exited an NJ Transit bus at Avon Avenue and South 19th Street.

According to Newark Police officials, Williams, later identified as one of three suspects, grabbed the victim around his neck while the other two suspects went through his pockets and stole the money.

Williams was also charged with conspiracy.  

Police said the other two suspects have not been located. 

These charges are merely allegations. 

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
