Open Casting-Call for 'The Lion King’ Comes to Newark

Disney's ‘The Lion King’, will hold an open casting call for children for the Broadway and national touring productions in Newark next weekend.

The open casting call will be held at New Jersey Performing Arts Center - 1 Center Street, Newark – next Saturday, September 20.

Children of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

The Lion King is looking for children between the ages of 9 and 12, 50 - 58" in height, who can sing, dance and act to play the African lion cubs Simba and Nala.

No performance experience necessary, but children should be prepared to learn the last verse of "I Just Can't Wait To Be King."

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must remain at the audition site at all times.

Sign in for children will be held from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. with auditions beginning at 10 in the morning.
