One person suffered severe injuries in a crash on a highway in Bergen County Monday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicated that shortly before 2 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to reports of a crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway northbound lanes near Orbach Way in Alpine.
Police arrived and found the crash scene with at least one person suffering critical injuries due to the collision.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment while police stayed at the scene to launch the investigation.
Authorities have not released the cause of the wreck at this time.
