On Tuesday night, one person was killed in a crash on a New Brunswick road.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of NJ-18 at Rutgers Village Road near Tunison Road around 11:50 p.m.

Officers arrived and found a severely damaged vehicle with the driver seriously injured inside.

Emergency responders administered CPR to the victim before being rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced the unidentified person dead.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the crash, which appeared to be a single-car collision.

It appeared that the driver left the roadway and slammed into a tree before becoming trapped in the car.

No other serious injuries were immediately reported.
