One Person Killed in Haledon Crash; Investigation Ongoing

Authorities in Haledon are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the collision happened at approximately 2:38 p.m. at the intersection of Hobart Avenue and Tilt Street and involved a Nissan Altima and a Ford Escape.

 

Officials said a 69-year-old male passenger seated on the right side of the Ford Escape, a Haledon resident, sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

 

Three additional occupants of the Ford Escape, along with the driver of the Nissan Altima, were also taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for medical evaluation. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains active and ongoing, and authorities said additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
