By: Jeff Sommes A Thursday evening fire in Paterson left one person severely injured. At approximately 6:35 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 454 East 31st Street after multiple 911 calls reported a fire in the area. Upon arrival, first responders located the source of the blaze in the kitchen of the residence and quickly began suppression efforts. During their search of the home, firefighters discovered one individual suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was immediately given CPR at the scene and transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Officials have only confirmed the person’s injuries as “severe” and “life-threatening” as of early Friday morning. The cause of the fire remains under active investigation, and no other injuries have been reported at this time. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or confirmed whether they lived at the home. Further details will be provided as they become available.
