Passaic County officials are investigating a car crash that killed a driver in Paterson on August 9.
According to police, at approximately 9:55 p.m., on Sunday, officers responded to the area of Ninth Avenue and East 26th Street in response to reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Asanti Cugliari, 22, of Wayne, was operating a 2013 Hyundai Genesis, and Gustavo Marte, 58, of Paterson, was operating a 2008 Dodge Charger when the vehicles collided in the intersection of Ninth Avenue and East 26th Street.
Mr. Marte was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Cugliari remained on the scene and presented a valid driver’s license.
No other vehicles were involved in this collision.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
