A devastating overnight crash in Paterson left one person dead and another seriously injured after a motorcycle crash sent both riders flying onto the pavement, officials said.
Around 11 p.m., emergency crews responded to Cianci and Market Streets after receiving reports of a serious accident.
First-arriving officers immediately called EMS to the scene upon finding the two victims in critical condition.
One rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Police shifted part of their investigation toward a tractor-trailer parked about a half-block away that may have played a role in the crash.
Detectives, along with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, continue to examine what led to the deadly incident.
The investigation remains active.
