One Injured after Car Flips Over on I-280 in Harrison

Harrison emergency responders rushed to the scene of a crash that caused a vehicle to overturn on I-280 in Harrison overnight.

The crashed happened just before 10:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway, near exit 16, where several 911 calls made to headquarters alerted police of a vehicle overturned on the road with possible trapped occupants.

Units arriving at the scene found the severely damaged vehicle on its roof with one person trapped inside according to reports.

Harrison firefighters were able to extricate the driver of the vehicle then hand them over to EMS who transported the victim to the hospital suffering serious injuries.

About six cars were towed off the highway after debris from the crash struck vehicles causing flat tires and other damage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
