By: Richard L. Smith Authorities in Trenton are investigating a tragic early morning crash that left one pedestrian dead and another seriously injured after being struck by a car. According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday in the 60s block of Sanhican Drive. Police were dispatched after receiving 911 calls reporting that pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle. When officers and emergency responders arrived, they found two individuals injured, with one of the victims trapped underneath the vehicle. Firefighters were called in to assist with the rescue and successfully extricated the trapped individual. Both victims were rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment. Tragically, one of the victims was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The condition of the second pedestrian has not been released. The cause of the crash remains under active investigation, and police have not confirmed whether any charges have been filed at this time. Officials are working to determine whether speed, impairment, or other factors played a role in the deadly incident.
