One Dead in Interstate 78 Crash; Heavy Delays, Closures

Police shut down all eastbound lanes on Route 78 in Bernards as they investigated an early morning crash that left one person dead.

The crash happened near exit 33 before 6:30 a.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where they found two seriously injured victims at that location.

One of the victims died according to state police.

This is where state transportation officials are pinpointing the crash location: "As of 6:36 am, there's an Accident on I-78 eastbound West of Exit 33 - CR 525/Liberty Corner Rd/Martinsville in Bernards Twp. All lanes closed expect heavy delays".

State police said, a westbound car veered across the median and hit two cars going eastbound.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
